The Friends of Acapulco first met José Miguel in November 2004. At that time, José was a five year-old boy. His mother brought him to the Amigo’s office. José Miguel was born totally deaf, in 2004, his mother informed Amigos de Acapulco that she had learned about a new and revolutionary surgical procedure, through which Jose´s hearing could be restored. The enthusiasm of José’s mother was so strong that she persuaded the surgeon to perform the operation for free. Due to the poor conditions in which they live, The Friends of Acapulco agreed to sponsor their round trips to Mexico City to visit his surgeon. The good news is that José Miguel can now hear. He has learned to speak some. The Friends of Acapulco continued its financial support and wanted to share with all of you this wonderful story providing the funds to make this miracle possible.
